SECOND WIND

Second Wind:

Second Wind is an acoustic duo consisting of two guitarists/vocalists. They also have a fabulous cajon player, who when available, joins in the fun.  They perform toe tapping, sing along covers from all types of genres: Classic rock, oldies, blues, country and other recognizable tunes. . Laughter typically ensues as they love to interact with their audience. It's a great time of music and fun.  They have performed at local breweries, restaurants, wineries, festivals and private parties!   Feel The Breeze~

Sharon:

Sharon retired from a long career in Disability Insurance in June of 2022 and wondered what on earth she was going to do with herself with all of this free time. After making a long bucket list, she landed on bringing her guitar out of the closet after many years....A strong vocalist but just an okayish guitar player, she was fortunate to meet Kathy through mutual friends and a duo was born!!   Sharon has since honed her guitar playing skills, and is thoroughly enjoying this new phase of her life, filled with music, fun and friendship.  Her music is heavily influenced by Folk &  Americana performers such as Bonnie Raitt, Nanci Griffith, Lori McKenna and Brandi Carlile.  Kathy occasionally lets her sing sad songs, but not as often as Sharon would like.

Kathy: 

Kathy started her musical journey at age 7 playing the piano.  Classically trained she studied music at The College of Saint Rose and UNH.  At the age of 18, a friend introduced her to the guitar, and she gravitated to the freedom of chords and improvisation that the guitar provided.  In the 80’s, she played rhythm guitar in various bands, playing rock, blues and country.  After retiring from a long career as an English teacher, she is back to performing with acoustic guitar and vocals. Meeting Sharon and forming the duo Second Wind has Kathy doing what she loves most, playing music and performing for audiences.
